Call me problematique or whatever but I’m always gonna have reservations about pansexual and other variations (poly/omni/multi/etc.) because its origins comes from a misunderstanding of bisexuality and bisexual history, as well as transphobia. Like frankly people are gonna continue to use those terms regardless and in tandem with ID’ing as bi, but I need y’all to stop treating bisexuality as less inclusive and maybe do some research on ye olde google because I’m tiredt of it.

people can talk about how the labels have moved away from their biphobic and transphobic origins all they want, but i still see them spreading the same harmful misconceptions (like bi = 2, bi being shallow, bi being trans exclusive, etc) and speaking over us.  these ppl can’t just say they’ve moved away from those origins without putting in the actual work of calling out biphobia and transphobia or the bare minimum of listening to us without speaking over us.  and bi ppl (ESPECIALLY those of us who are also trans) are naturally going to have our reservations with those labels until the active biphobia and transphobia problems are addressed outside of just saying “i support bi and trans ppl!”

this is like.  the bare minimum of asking ppl to stop being biphobic and getting called problematic for it.  and it’s bc biphobic misconceptions are so ingrained in non bi ppl nd in bi ppl who are unfamiliar with our history that they think these misconceptions of us being shallow transphobes are facts.
